Thiruvathira is traditional dance performed by young ladies. Groups of up to eight or ten women are seen dressed in traditional Kerala attire, dancing in a circle. The graceful movements of the dance are both enchanting and elegant. The white saris with colourful borders along with fresh jasmines adorning their hair make for a wonderful sight. Fidelity and the power of female energy are the crux of this ancient practice.
I love fine art and my medium of choice is watercolor. I am mostly a self taught artist but have take classes from masters around the world. I adopt a semi realistic style in my paintings and would like to convey a sense of engagement to my viewers. I am a story teller. Therefore most of my themes are based on rural landscapes, people in action, and architecture. Presently living in Virginia with my family, I am a member of both Virginia watercolor society and American water color society.
